What does reportage mean?

Informal Reportage Shot

Some people do not like posing for pictures and so do not like formal photographs of the couple or family groups. If you feel like this you might want to consider an unposed or reportage style (illustrated above). The photographer just reports or records what happens. Even if you feel like this we would strongly advise you to have a few formal pictures. Good 'reportage style' can also involve posing.

In our experience many brides who say they want reportage coverage actually choose more carefully set up shots when they see the proofs. On the other hand couples who want a formal style often 'lighten' the album with informal images.

Our advice: have a mixture of formal and informal images
to give your album variety of content and varying mood
