Steve Campbell of Scotimages accepts photographic commissions for legal reasons and takes pictures both in and out of the studio as required. This kind of work is undertaken on a confidential basis. Customers can rest assured that no injury photographs or those taken for legal purposes will ever been shown on this site. This is for reasons of client confidentiality.
No need for explanations
There is absolutely no need to provide reasons as to why you wish to have the pictures taken or describe the circumstances involved. It does help however for you to be very clear about what it is that you want photographed and what you expect the pictures to show. If you require injuries to be documented you might consider either asking your legal advisor to summarise important information from expert medical reports or bring copies of such reports to the studio. There is no need for me to retain copies of medical reports.
Examples of work already undertaken
Photography of a facial injury due to the willful and careless behaviour of a co-worker on a building site in contravention of health and safety regulations.
Photography of a very severe head injury due to a vicious criminal assault at a bus stop.
Photography of leg injuries, muscle wastage and surgical scarring following a road traffic accident.
Photography of the hand and upper thigh area of a client who had been run over by a car. The driver was prosecuted and found not guilty. Photographs were used in a civil action to recover damages from the driver's insurance company.
Photography of a driver holding car parts in the studio following a vehicle accident in which the other driver who was at fault had denied any involvement despite the fact that parts of his car were in the possession of my client.
On one occasion I had to photograph the empty space between 2 doorways in a public building due to legal action taken by a third party in what I guessed was a health and safety matter. No reason was given by the client, although they appeared to be very pleased with the photographic prints.
Certified photography
All photography carried out for legal reason is certified and supplied as prints. Steps are taken to provide prints with very accurate and detailed reproduction and excellent colour balance. As a result no geometric or colour manipulation will be undertaken under any circumstances and no digital image files will be provided. A form of identification (preferably a driving license or passport) and evidence of address (such as a utility bill or bank statement) is required for certification.
Two important notes about confidentiality
1) For reasons of confidentiality I will never place personal injury photograph examples on this web site. I will never show other clients or members of the public pictures that have been taken of any customer. Such pictures will not be used in any form of publicity or marketing or be used for any educational purposes or be given or licensed to any third parties.
2) If you are acting on behalf of a company I will be happy to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Photographic Sessions
My aim is to produce pictures that are technically good illustrating the features of interest using the best possible angles and illumination. For a person with extensive injuries, many lighting configurations might have to be used, making the process slower than a portrait photography session. Please allow a morning, afternoon or evening for a shoot if extensive and varied photography has to be carried out.
Where items of clothing have to be removed I ask that all clients are wearing suitable underwear and that female clients are accompanied by an adult female chaperone who will be present during the shoot, such as a mother, daughter or close friend. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please make telephone me, Steve Campbell, on 0141 570 1368 to discuss your requirements and book an appointment. See the contact page for the studio location.
