Adult studio portraits of the traditional kind are often requested. However many people want something different. Clients often ask for something 'relaxed' and 'informal' both for family photographs and for their own portraits.

You might like to have studio portraits head and shoulders, full length standing or seated or shots from above or below. Everyone has a different body shape and facial characteristics so I change the lighting and angle of shoot accordingly, when taking individual portraits.

Personally I like black and white (greyscale) or tinted monochrome portraits, although I realise that is not everyone's taste. These days all images are captured in colour and processed afterwards. So you can choose after the photo shoot.
I will most often retouch portraits however I think on occasions lines, wrinkles and individual characteristics add to a portrait. If you or your children have temporary spots, acne, shaving cuts, grazes and bruises these can normally be removed if your portrait is not required for identification or legal reasons.

I do not use printed or textured backgrounds as these detract from the subjects. White, grey or black backgrounds or varying degrees of light, shade and colour can be used to give depth and style to the prints.

You can choose colour, greyscale or tinted shots such as the sepia toned image above, after the shoot.

This gallery gives examples of toned monochrome images.

Adult portrait photographs can be taken individually or as part of a larger family or group photography shoot.
Please feel free to discuss your ideas about the style of studio portraits you wish to have when you arrive at the studio for the photoshoot.
