The puffin is a ground nesting bird, which digs a burrow in soft earth. It's eggs are therefore vulnerable to predation.

The Isle of May is one of the best places in Scotland to see them.

The puffin has short wings that beat very rapidly in flight but can reach speeds of 40 mph.
