Competitive Prices
Scotimages Ltd. aims to offer much more competitive portrait pricing than city centre studios. Ask your friends what their experience has been and compare that with what I offer. I suggest you should be suspicious of anybody who offers you something for nothing; like a free print, or a free shoot, or a first print at a cheap price with the offer only valid for the day or a special offer for the first print.
Example Prices
I charge £16 for 8 UK passport photos and head and shoulders business portraits from £32. For family portrait sessions I charge a combined shoot, viewing and web page fee of £40 total and then charge per print. There is absolutely no obligation to buy anything. Presently prints start at £14 for a 7x5 print supplied in a strut mount (for other example prices see below). I also offer discounts on multiple orders of the same print.
For portrait customers and wedding reprints I presently charge:
£14 -7x5 inch
£19 -8x6
£26 -10x8
£32 -A4
£40- 12x10
£52-15x10
£63 -16x12
£68 - 20x8 (e.g. triple card-mounted composite print)
Lots of other sizes and prices ..............
Up to a usual maximum of £230 for very large card-mounted composites with many images
These are just a few sample prices. For other sizes please call for a firm quaotation: 0141 570 1368.
Babies
If you have a baby who is just not in the mood to be photographed I will not charge the shoot fee. Many mothers of babies of small children buy standard prints for friends and family (in the range £14-£32). Parents who want large composite prints for wall mounting normally buy in the range £66-£148.
No 'Free' Tricks
Most people like something for nothing or a good deal. I prefer the good deal. I do not con clients by offering free sessions and then ask extremely high prices for framed prints. I charge much less than people who make these kinds of offers. If you would like me to produce a framed or block mounted print or canvas for you I am very happy to do so. However, I am also happy to offer prints for standard-sized frames that can be purchased in many shops or give customers the opportunity to just buy a custom print and find their own framer.
No Hidden Charges
I have no hidden charges and am very happy to discuss print prices up front with customers and invite you to compare my charges with other good photographers. One customer told me recently that she and her family had a great session in a city centre studio. They then returned for the viewing session and were really pleased with the pictures but were "horrified to be held to ransom" when they discovered the prices. That is not the way I do business. I also aim to keep my wedding photography charges (£650-£1650) competitive with the best in Scotland (for more info on wedding photography packages click here wedding photography pricing).
No Sales Pressure
I never coerce clients to pose in any way or try to pressurise them to buy anything. I work on the basis that if the images are really good and are what people want my work will sell itself. Although I do not claim to be virtuous, I try to be straight with people.
For those who cannot come to the studio during the working day
out of office hours photography by evening or weekend appointment is possible
